PICCOLO CANNOLI BAR - SYDNEY'S FIRST CANNOLERIA
Nonno Gregorio Zenere was born in Caldogno, Vicenza, Veneto to Vittorio Zenere and Letizia Fabbi. Nonno departed Genova, Liguria, Italy on 1st Feb 1951 aboard the ship ‘Ugolino Vivaldi’ and arrived in Melbourne 12th March. He later moved to Sydney where he met and married our Nonna Angelina in Leichhardt.
Nonna Angelina Zenere was born in Gardolo, Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige to Luigi DeManincor and Carolina Facchini. She left Italy when she was just 5 years old with brother Giorgio and her mother Carolina. They departed Italy aboard the ship 'Esquilino' in Feb 1938. Her brother Sergio soon followed. Nonna's homemade ricotta cannoli creams are proving to be very popular amongst customers visiting the cannoleria.
Adrian Zenere, the eldest son of Nonno Gregorio and Nonna Angelina, is a registered architect who loves to share his appreciation of some of his nonni and mother's favourite cannoli cream recipes and Italian piccolo dolci that he grew up with so much so that he made room in his Sydney architectural practice for La Famiglia Zenere Cannoleria.
Amber Zenere married into the family over 25 years ago. Being immersed in the Italian culture for nearly 3 decades she has come to love all things Italian and often says that you don't have to be Italian to appreciate the culture, coffee, food, architecture & design. Amber spent over 20 years working in restaurants and as hotel management for international hotels Hyatt, Hilton and Sheraton both here in Sydney as well as in Auckland, London and New York and with Qantas Airways as cabin crew and an inflight services trainer.
Being a family business with both their sons Zack and Blake and Nonno Gregorio and Nonna Angelina, all lending a helping hand they recognise their busy customer’s 'on-the-go' lifestyles and need for premium cannoli piped fresh. So with a focus on both retail and catering options for celebrations, weddings and corporate events .........Piccolo Cannoli Bar, Sydney's First Cannoleria was born in February 2019!
